Sorry for the lack of pics lately. I will post some soon!
We are back from a couple of weeks and enjoying time with our in-laws. I must go back a few weeks, however, and update on our lives. We had gotten news that our closest friends/work partners here in Shimla will be moving about 8 or 9 hours away from us. They leave in June. For some reason, this really broke us! We've been in India for a year in July with no break and the cultural wear and tear tends to take its toll sometimes so we thought we just "had to have a vacation". We've been saving vacation days up and thought we would use them this summer or "perhaps we won't survive".
Our supervisor realized we were struggling and sent us to visit a friend in the North East. We did some work with them for about a week or so and found just what we needed. We live in a hard area to do the things we do...this area was totally the opposite. It was so open and easy, and we found ourselves refreshed. We also were able to really connect with these new friends and as we dug in the word together, we refocused. Then in between cities, we found ourselves at our friends house where we laughed hard, unloaded, and encouraged one another on. Thanks Futterers! What we thought we needed was a vacation, but our Father knew that we really just needed to refocus, get back on track, and know....deep, deep, down that He is in control and is doing all for His glory and our good!
Where do we find ourselves truly satisfied? When He is being glorified. When we get off focus and find ourselves broken at the idea of being lonely, ect. He has to remind us...all for Him, all to Him, all about Him. And this is where we find ourselves again. Praise Him.
We loved every minute that you guys were here and can't wait to meet the in laws soon :)
ReplyDeleteHey guys--we've been thinking about ya'll and your visit with nancy & butch. levi, you're looking just like your daddy. Please know you are always in our prayers for you ministry and safety. What day do your parents leave? We'll wait to call until after then. Can't wait to go hunting again. Also, (this is from Kara) she has become more aware of India b/c of ya'lls work...Rahab's Rope and another school for girls that was started by an Indian lady (know living in California) that Signy has become good friends with through Rotary International things...we'll have to discuss on our call. If we called around 8 a.m. our time, what time is that for you? Love you both! Ryan and Kara
