Landslides

Rainy season was really bad this year. For different parts of India, this means different things. In the plains there was lots of flooding, and the mosquitoes where horrible bringing Dengue fever into the country with a vengeance. In the mountains, this means landslides. Levi and I went to the doctor about 4 hours down the mountain last week and saw 15 landslides! I took some pictures on the ride over to our friends house yesterday. I hope it gives you an idea.
This is not a good picture but maybe you can tell where all the rocks, trees and dirt fell. It has been cleaned now.

A total mess!

Everywhere we go we get stuck behind a machine that is dumping dirt into a dump truck. We all have to wait until the truck is full before we can go again!

These days there is always at least one or two places where we have to wait for at least 30 minutes. This is a good exercise in our patience!

The roads are not easy to travel on right now...that is for sure!

The red house on top of the hill is where our friends Abby, Allison, D and Coop used to live. We are glad they don't live there right now because they would be stuck!

The landslide happened right beside their house! Crazy!

It ran into this shop and really made a mess. You can see the small walking path that people are using to get to their homes.

There are piles and piles of dirt and rocks that line the sides of the roads now!
