I am always overwhelmed at the grace the Lord gives us. We show up Friday to see the doctor at an awesome hospital here in Bangkok, Thailand and the doctor tells us he is going to have to put Wyatt to sleep which we did not want. We asked him if we could see another doctor and he made us an appointment for a doctor at the women's center today. We show up, the doctor is not there and we were beginning to feel like we were in India with the mass confusion. Then we were given several sweet apologies and quickly realized we were far from our Indian world.
If we were in India, we would be standing at the counter when they tell us to wait just to make sure they are actually trying to help us. Then we would harrass them over and over as we wait in order for them to actually do what they tell us they will do. In India, when they say something is not possible, it means that they don't feel like doing it at this particular minute so they just say no. That is when we continue to bug them until it gets done. It is so hard to remember we are not in India anymore! On more than one occasion in this journey for Wyatt, I've had to remind Levi that we can relax because they will do what they tell us!
Anyway, the women's center sent us to the Children's area and we were put on a waiting list to see the doctor. This is the amazing part: This doctor is the best in Bangkok when it comes to pediatric surgeries. He is the only doctor in the hospital that does a circumcision like America and he said to do Wyatt at 5 weeks was fine. If he were 2 months or over, he would have to cut and stitch but not now. And he only deadened the area, no putting Wyatt to sleep. He only comes to the hospital once every 3 weeks for an hour and we got to see him and schedule an appointment! If we had pressured the doctor last night to do the circumcision we would have had to deal with a real surgery. Man, how sweet it is to see how gracious the Lord is! Praise the Lord and thanks for your prayers!
